3. Justine’s
Let’s stop by Justine’s to get loose after a long working day or for late-night dining (as they open until 2 AM)!
It is a cozy restaurant remodeled from an old house. The atmosphere is fun yet intimate with funky lighting fixtures, red walls, and a roomy courtyard filled with tents and chandeliers, featuring an authentic vibe of a French brasserie.
The menu is pretty short with traditional French foods. But it doesn’t matter because their dishes are insanely delicious. My recommendations are steak frites, Ratatouille, and Poisson Béarnaise. They come out in big portions so you can share them with your friends.

Suerte is a fantastic Mexican restaurant in Texas, particularly in East Austin. And all customers’ praise for Suerte is well-earned. Behind their success is the dedication of Chef Fermin Nunez – a native Mexican who would love to deliver flavorful and authentic delicacies to the community.
The quality of ingredients is impeccable because they are sourced from Central Texas farmers. The attention to detail is superb. Come to Suerte in the summer, and try their Masa to feel the perfect balance of earthy and sweet.

Uchi is a big brand name in the restaurant industry in various cities. It is one of the nicest spots to dine in Dallas, Texas as well. In Austin, you can still enjoy the same quality of Uchi’s delicacies at Uchiko. Why?

You should expect a long waiting line in front of the restaurant. And there is a reason for it. Owned by Aaron Franklin – a meat-smoking manifesto and a James Beard award-winning chef, the restaurant is undoubtedly one of the most well-loved BBQ eateries in Austin.
His culinary journey started in 2009 with a barbecue food trailer, then upgraded to a brick-and-mortar spot in 2011. His restaurant is acclaimed for making the best brisket in Texas, but there are more amazing dishes you need to try.
Actually, they are just classic BBQ dishes like pulled pork, pork ribs, sausage, and turkey. But the intense flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture are no joke. With so much attention to detail and a huge love for making food, no wonder why it is also packed.
Unfortunately, Franklin Barbecue does not take reservations so you might need to wait around 2 to 3 hours or even 5 hours on the weekends. So being patient is a key to dining here. Or you can place your order online in advance and grab it on the premises later so you can skip the waiting line.

Another very busy food truck in the city is Veracruz All Natural, so once you come to this place, expect a short (maybe long) wait. Started in 2010 on East Cesar Chavez with one food truck, and now it has 5 locations in Austin.
What you can find here are authentic Mexican delights, particularly tacos that are made from organic and fresh components. And according to the Food Network, their Migas taco is one of the 5 best tacos in the USA.
There are also vegetarian tacos for you to choose from. Apart from tacos, their steak, grilled chicken, or quesadilla deserves a try too.
